Whether it is creating wealth, creating a business (or skincare line @ Saturee) developing a strong relationship, becoming healthy or losing weight--slow and steady (normally) wins the race. Maybe NOT every time, but MOST of the time.
-
Why?
-
Well, in my opinion, there are several reasons to slow things down, particularly when it comes to your health.
-
1. Adaptations. Your body slowly adapts to whatever stressor you place upon it-good or bad. Thus, your body will not fall apart in a month or two (a good thing), and it will also not fix itself after a few years or decades of mistreatment. It needs TIME to adapt back to a STRONGER, healthier you.
-
2. It takes time to create NEW and BETTER habits. When you try to race and fix everything quickly, you end up missing foundational steps--like BUILDING up your METABOLISM. You tend to focus on removing symptoms vs fixing the system. Ultimately, this leads to a cracked system AND ADDITIONAL symptoms down the road.
-
3. You decrease the chances of burn out. How many times have YOU burned yourself out from your current DIEt?--you become hungry, agitated, bored of tasteless food, exhausted from endless exercise and/or tired of missing social functions (due to your diet). There needs to be space in any health journey to LIVE. At the same time, you have to be CLEAR about your goals so you can STILL make STEADY progress.
We do not want perfect, we just want progress
-
4. YOU get to enjoy the journey vs. just focusing on the end point. If you can see "getting healthy" or whatever goal you have as this AMAZING journey to learn new Sh#t, you will begin to appreciate the journey in front of you, vs dreading it... Your individual journey to health is ALL about you getting to learn about you-- if you learn to savor every moment, picking up on all the details it can keep you from having to REPEAT yourself.
